The first set of online lessons start with the weekly community meeting.

Each of these sessions will be recorded and be made available online on lifebahn.org for reference purposes. This will consist of four separate courses, GAM-12, GAM11, GAM10 & GAM9. GAM-12 is for those seniors who did not achieve their desired results and wish to retake their respective test and for juniors going to their senior year and feel ill prepared to achieve the results they desire or need for their future.

GAM-11 is for upcoming seniors who did not do well in their junior years and wish to get better prepared for their senior year; and for those upcoming  juniors who wish to get ahead.

 However  there will be one set of tutorials specifically designed to help IB HL or SL mathematics 4-8 week courses, this might be fee based and may be the first service to test a business model to make this project self sufficient.  We will discuss the business end separately, but first please give me your thoughts on this and what is involved in doing this so that I can start preparing lessons.

So, how are we going to go and create this GREAT education system? 

GREAT@,Academy is that system which is designed to provide people access to both the knowledge as well as teach them the skills for processing this refined information.

Well we are going to do it one step at a time while keeping our focus on the goal, which is:

  • To provide Refined information (Knowledge) needed to make smart decision 
  • The Skills needed to process this refined information.

KnowledgeBase – Refined Information

Knowledge is accurate and reliable information, about us and our surroundings,  which is relevant and readily available in a timely manner. It is therefore not absolute and changes with time and human progress and must be maintained and kept up to date. 

It consists of 7 types of pure information.

Information about:

  1. Places – within our environment, basically about the universe.
  2. Things – within the universe, including animals and plants etc.
  3. People – present past and future on earth and otherwise
  4. Events – that occur both natural and man made
  5. Organizations – which evolve when people and things interact with each other to create events in various places – including institutions – where people undertake projects by using resources in various places to achieve certain outcomes.
  6. Values – consequences of  the outcomes of the events
  7. Relationships – between 1-7

, the most important part or component of education is mathematics so we’re going to  re-organize mathematics teaching.

GREAT@ Mathematics:

which is the problem with the high level The purpose of this GREAT@ mathematics is not to create beyond university level education but enough mathematics that is useful for most people, grades 11 and 12 currently, IB level mathematics. IB is designed to do that, to provide math which can be used by people in college to specialize in whatever it is that will get them the best jobs which is what the current education system is all about. 

What does GREAT mathematics look like? Before we can do that, let’s talk about what mathematics is a little bit and why it is so important. 

 

Basically mathematics is a model for life, so that you can understand and learn about your environment and you do it partly through physics and other sciences or ultimately for example through a modeling point of view that was learned through mathematics. So, we’ll talk about that in a minute.
